A blooming plum blossom knot with a softly moving smoky quartz.
Inspired by the plum blossom that blooms in early spring after enduring the cold of winter, the Ume Earrings No. 1 bring the traditional Japanese Ume-musubi into a simple, everyday form.
Each earring combines a hand-tied Mizuhiki knot with a clean Sterling Silver setting, creating a delicate drop design made to move naturally with you.
At our Tokyo studio, silver-toned washi paper cord is carefully tied by hand into a five-petal Ume-musubi. Beneath it, a smoky quartz drop moves gently with each gesture, catching the light differently as you move.
At approximately 1.5 g per earring, they are light and easy to wear, adding a subtle sense of movement to everyday dressing.
Pair them with the Ume Necklace No. 1 for a natural connection between the matching Ume-musubi and smoky quartz details.

About Ume-musubi
Ume-musubi is a traditional Mizuhiki knot shaped like a plum blossom.
It is based on the Awaji-musubi and developed into a form resembling flower petals. The plum blossom has long been appreciated in Japan as an auspicious symbol, in part because it blooms in early spring after the cold of winter.
Ume-musubi is also sometimes associated with strong bonds, reflecting the secure structure of the knot.
At TOKI, we are drawn to both the balanced form of the five-petal knot and the quiet character of the plum blossom—its ability to bloom after winter. We reinterpret these qualities as contemporary jewelry designed for everyday wear.

Care
The core of the Mizuhiki is made from twisted washi paper cord.
To help preserve its form and finish, avoid contact with water, moisture, hair products, perfumes, and other cosmetics.
After wearing, gently wipe the earrings with a soft cloth and store them in the provided box in a cool, dry place.
