A sculptural form of continuous curves and subtle shadow.

Inspired by the traditional Japanese Awaji-musubi knot, the Awaji Necklace No. 1 explores the beauty of a form that becomes more firmly tied as its ends are drawn together.

Multiple layers of Mizuhiki form overlapping curves and open spaces, creating a sculptural silhouette around the neckline. Two natural smoky quartz beads rest along the curve beneath the knot, adding subtle depth and movement.

At approximately 2.0 g, the necklace is lightweight and easy to wear, adding a distinctive yet understated accent to everyday dressing.

Wear it on its own or pair it with earrings inspired by traditional Japanese knot forms for a coordinated look.

Handcrafted in Tokyo

Each piece is handcrafted in our Tokyo studio.

Because the Mizuhiki is tied and shaped by hand and natural stones vary individually, each piece has subtle variations in form, color, pattern, and texture.

These small differences are part of the character of a handmade piece and natural materials.

About the Awaji-musubi

Awaji-musubi is one of the traditional knot forms used in Japanese Mizuhiki.

Its distinctive shape is formed by two interwoven loops. When the ends are pulled, the knot tightens rather than coming undone. Because of this structure, the Awaji-musubi has long been associated with enduring bonds and lasting connections.

At TOKI, we are drawn to both the balanced structure of the knot and its continuous curves, reinterpreting this traditional form as dimensional jewelry for everyday wear.

Avoid direct contact with perfume, hairspray, lotions, and other cosmetics.

After wearing, gently wipe the piece with a soft, dry cloth and store it in its box in a cool, dry place.
