Inspired by the Japanese idea of Aioi—growing and living together over time—the Aioi Earrings No. 1 explore the beauty of connection through a simple circular form.

Multiple layers of silver-toned Mizuhiki are carefully shaped into an open circle, creating a balanced form with subtle dimension and shadow around the face.

At our Tokyo studio, washi paper cord is tied and shaped by hand into the circular form. A natural white quartz bead is placed within the open center, moving gently with each gesture and adding a soft point of light.

At approximately 1.7 g per earring, they are light and easy to wear, allowing the sculptural circle to become a natural part of everyday dressing.

Pair them with the Aioi Necklace No. 1 for a subtle connection between the matching circular form and white quartz details.

Aioi is a Japanese word associated with growing and living together over time.

The Aioi-musubi knot is sometimes connected with lasting relationships and the idea of sharing life together, reflecting both its name and the way its lines come together.

At TOKI, we are drawn to the circular form created by the intertwined lines and the open space at its center. We reinterpret these qualities as contemporary jewelry, allowing the negative space to become part of the design.

Once your order is placed, each piece is carefully made, inspected, and prepared for shipment. Please allow 2–3 business days for processing before dispatch.

Care

The core of the Mizuhiki is made from twisted washi paper cord.

To help preserve its form and finish, avoid contact with water, moisture, hair products, perfumes, and other cosmetics.

After wearing, gently wipe the earrings with a soft cloth and store them in the provided box in a cool, dry place.
